The NAMPAP Davao Chapter recently revisited the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region XI (DILG XI) to continue strengthening its partnership and to explore new opportunities for collaboration in future project initiatives. The meeting focused on identifying areas where the expertise of registered master plumbers could be integrated into DILG XI’s programs, particularly those related to infrastructure development and compliance with building standards. This renewed engagement reflects the chapter’s proactive stance in aligning its technical knowledge with government priorities to ensure that projects are not only completed but also meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

During the discussions, the chapter emphasized the indispensable role of master plumbers in the inspection and regulation of plumbing systems. They highlighted the importance of having licensed professionals stationed in the Office of the City Building Officials and in the engineering offices of smaller Local Government Units (LGUs). By ensuring that plumbing permits are thoroughly reviewed and implemented, master plumbers help safeguard communities from risks associated with poorly designed or improperly installed systems. This advocacy underscores the chapter’s commitment to elevating professional standards while supporting LGUs in delivering efficient and reliable public services.

In addition, NAMPAP Davao Chapter informed DILG XI of their ongoing efforts to provide seminars and training programs that can be availed by building permit checkers to enhance their technical expertise. These seminars are designed to strengthen the capacity of personnel responsible for reviewing and approving permits, thereby improving the overall regulatory framework.

Assistant Regional Director Charissa Guerta encouraged the chapter to proceed with accreditation as official partners, recognizing the value of their contribution to professional development and public service excellence. This initiative further demonstrates NAMPAP Davao Chapter’s dedication to collaboration, education, and service to the community.
