Is Rainwater Potable?

In 2009, Davao City took a significant step towards sustainable water management by enacting Ordinance No. 0298-09, which is formally recognized as the Davao City Rainwater Ordinance of 2009. This ordinance was designed to promote the collection and utilization of rainwater, a vital resource in addressing the city's water supply challenges, especially during dry seasons. However, it is important to note that the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) that would provide the necessary guidelines for the ordinance's execution were not established until 2014. This delay was addressed through the issuance of Executive Order No. 45, series of 2014, which laid out the framework for the practical implementation of the ordinance.
